Hello! I’m Michelle Powell. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania, where I graduated high school and then attended Shippensburg University. In college I played soccer and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Go Big Red! I then joined the Army where I honorably served as an officer in an artillery unit. The Army offered me the chance to travel and see other countries, which has always been a passion of mine.
Upon completing my military service, I moved to Florida where I started my health care career as a surgical technologist, focusing on orthopedic trauma. Working in the operating room inspired me to continue my education, so I obtained my RN from the University of Central Florida and began working in Intensive Care. After a while, I was called back to the operating room where I continued my nurse and First Assistant in the operating room.
Still looking for more, I went back to school and obtained my master’s degree from Florida State University to become an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. My career as a Nurse Practitioner has allowed me to work in many interesting and exciting areas. I started as a Family Nurse Practitioner working at a medical office in Titusville. I then moved to work closer to home, taking a position at an internal medicine office in New Smyrna Beach. A while later I was convinced by a friend to try my hand working in Pediatrics as a pediatric nurse practitioner. As much as I enjoyed all these jobs, I still felt driven to expand my areas of expertise and grow my experience. I then took a series of jobs working in Assisted living facilities and working in elder care. My most recent endeavor has me working in addiction medicine, which I find incredibly rewarding.
I live in Central Florida on a small family farm with my husband and daughter. Our son is following the family tradition, as he is currently active duty in the Army. I enjoy being outside working with horses and other animals, and watching my amazing daughter ride her horses.
I have always been very passionate about providing the best level of healthcare to my patients. If you are looking for an honest, hardworking, and caring Family Care provider, I hope you will consider letting me be there for you!
